Understanding Rambus Memory in Computer Accessories
7 days ago by Harry Smith
Rambus Memory, often known as RDRAM (Rambus Dynamic Random-Access Memory), is a high-speed memory technology that played a crucial role in the evolution of Computer Accessories. Developed by Rambus Inc., it was initially used in gaming consoles and high-performance computers due to its ability to transfer data at much faster rates compared to traditional SDRAM.
Though not as commonly used today, Rambus Memory was once praised for offering faster memory bandwidth, which significantly boosted system performance in computing environments that demanded speed and reliability. Its unique design required special RIMM modules and heat spreaders to manage its high operating temperature.
